Sorry for the confusion! The laser pointer actually comes with a protective cap pre-installed on the front, and this cap needs to be unscrewed first.
Once the cap is removed, the threaded section underneath will be exposed, and the laser pointer can then be attached to the adapter normally.
The black plastic piece included in the package is the charger for the laser pointer.
