Smartphones use built-in compass sensors (magnetometers), which can be sensitive to nearby metal components. Because of this, some phones may experience slight interference when a mount is attached. This is a common behavior across many metal phone mounts and devices.
How to improve accuracy:
- Position your phone so the mount sits closer to the bottom of your phone
- Keep the mount further away from the compass sensor area
- Recalibrate your compass in your app if needed
With proper positioning, this effect can be minimized for accurate polar alignment.
