This phone mount is a polar alignment tool, it can help you attach the phone at the backside of NOMAD, then use the app Photopills or Stellarium to guide the polar alignment. Please refer to the setup picture. One ballhead is to connect NOMAD to the tripod then another one is to connect the camera to NOMAD. This kit will come with one ballhead.

You may wonder why the kit with laser is not recommended, laser can be used well in the Northern hemisphere, but the alignment target in the Southern hemisphere, Sigma Octantis, is really dim, laser is not that useful, so I would recommend you go with the phone mount kit.
