- Phone Mount: Using a phone mount with alignment apps like Stellarium or Photopills offers a convenient alignment method. Its accuracy is almost the same as the laser pointer, but it requires a stable setup and a reliable signal for the apps to function properly.
- Polar Scope: The Polar Scope provides the highest level of accuracy by allowing you to directly align with Polaris, the North Celetial Pole (or the South Celestial Pole in the Southern Hemisphere). It’s ideal for long-exposure astrophotography and offers precise alignment, making it the most accurate of the three tools.
For the best results, especially with long exposures or high focal lengths, the Polar Scope is recommended. For ease of use, both the Laser Pointer and Phone Mount are good alternatives.
